Account Deletion Request

LoadLess is a chore management app that helps you and your household stay organized. We respect your privacy and your right to control your personal data.

If you wish to delete your account and all associated data, please follow the instructions below.

How to Request Account Deletion

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Gather Required Information
    Make sure you have the following information ready:
    • Your username (the one you use to log in)
    • Your email address (the one associated with your account)
  2. Send an Email Request
    Compose an email to privacy@loadless.com with the subject line: "Account Deletion Request"
  3. Include Required Information
    In your email, clearly state:
    • Your username
    • Your email address (must match the one in your account)
    • A clear statement that you want to delete your account
  4. Wait for Confirmation
    We will verify your identity by confirming that the email address matches your account. Once verified, we will process your deletion request and send you a confirmation email.

Required Information

To process your account deletion request, we need the following information:

Information You Must Provide:

  • Username: The username you use to log into your LoadLess account
  • Email Address: The email address associated with your account (must match exactly)

Important: The email address you provide must match the one registered in your account. If you're unsure which email is associated with your account, you can check your profile in the app.

What Data Will Be Deleted

When you request account deletion, the following data will be permanently removed:

The following data will be permanently deleted:

Account Information:

  • Your user account and profile information
  • Your username
  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your password (already encrypted/hashed)

User-Generated Content:

  • All chores you created (names, descriptions, due dates, priorities, categories)
  • All shopping list items you created
  • All comments and notes you added
  • All houses/groups you created (if you are the only member)

Membership and Activity Data:

  • All your house/group memberships
  • Your experience points and level progress
  • All rewards you earned
  • Your activity history

Device and Notification Data:

  • OneSignal Player ID (push notification identifier)
  • Authentication tokens

Important Notes:

  • House Ownership: If you own a house and are the only member, the entire house (including all chores and shopping items) will be deleted. If other members exist, house ownership will be transferred to the oldest remaining member.
  • Assigned Chores: Chores assigned to you will be unassigned (not deleted) so other house members can reassign them.
  • Shopping Items: Items you marked as "bought" will have that information cleared, but the items themselves will remain in the shopping list.
  • Processing Time: Account deletion is typically processed within 7 business days after verification.

What Happens After Deletion

Alternative: Delete from the App

If you are still logged into the LoadLess app, you can delete your account directly from the app:

  1. Open the LoadLess app
  2. Go to your Profile/Settings
  3. Select "Delete Account"
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions

Note: This method requires you to be logged in and will delete your account immediately after confirmation.
