Request Data Deletion

LoadLess is a chore management app that helps you and your household stay organized. We respect your privacy and your right to control your personal data.

If you wish to delete specific data from your account (without deleting your entire account), please follow the instructions below.

How to Request Data Deletion

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Gather Required Information
    Make sure you have the following information ready:
    • Your username (the one you use to log in)
    • Your email address (the one associated with your account)
    • Details about the specific data you want to delete (see options below)
  2. Send an Email Request
    Compose an email to privacy@loadless.com with the subject line: "Data Deletion Request"
  3. Include Required Information
    In your email, clearly state:
    • Your username
    • Your email address (must match the one in your account)
    • The specific type(s) of data you want to delete
    • Any additional details (e.g., specific chore names, house names, date ranges)
  4. Wait for Confirmation
    We will verify your identity by confirming that the email address matches your account. Once verified, we will process your deletion request and send you a confirmation email.

Required Information

To process your data deletion request, we need the following information:

Information You Must Provide:

  • Username: The username you use to log into your LoadLess account
  • Email Address: The email address associated with your account (must match exactly)
  • Data Type: Specify which type(s) of data you want to delete (see options below)
  • Specific Details: If applicable, provide specific identifiers (e.g., chore names, house names, date ranges)

Important: The email address you provide must match the one registered in your account. If you're unsure which email is associated with your account, you can check your profile in the app.

Types of Data You Can Request to Delete

You can request deletion of the following types of data. Please specify in your email which data you want to delete:

1. Chores

You can request deletion of:

  • All chores you created
  • Specific chores (provide chore names or IDs)
  • Chores within a specific date range
  • Chores from a specific house

Note: If you delete chores, they will be permanently removed. If the chores are assigned to other house members, they will be notified. If you own a house and delete all chores, the house will remain but will be empty.

2. Shopping List Items

You can request deletion of:

  • All shopping list items you created
  • Specific items (provide item names)
  • Items within a specific date range
  • Items from a specific house

Note: Deleted shopping items will be permanently removed from the list. If other house members were planning to buy these items, they will need to add them again.

3. Houses/Groups

You can request deletion of:

  • Houses you created (if you are the only member)
  • Your membership in specific houses

Note: You can only delete houses you created if you are the only member. If other members exist, you can only leave the house (remove your membership). Deleting a house will also delete all chores and shopping items in that house.

4. Profile Information

You can request deletion or modification of:

  • Your name
  • Your email address (requires account verification)

Note: Your username cannot be changed or deleted as it is your account identifier. To change your email, you can also do this directly in the app settings.

5. Gamification Data

You can request deletion of:

  • Your experience points (reset to zero)
  • Your level progress (reset to level 1)
  • Your earned rewards

Note: This will reset your gamification progress. You will start earning experience points again from zero. This action cannot be undone.

6. Push Notification Data

You can request deletion of:

  • Your OneSignal Player ID (device identifier for push notifications)

Note: This will disable push notifications for your account. You can also disable notifications directly in your device settings or app settings.

⚠️ Important Considerations

  • Permanent Deletion: Once data is deleted, it cannot be recovered. Make sure you really want to delete the data before requesting deletion.
  • Impact on Others: If you delete data that is shared with house members (like chores or shopping items), it will affect other members as well.
  • House Ownership: If you delete a house you created, all members will lose access to that house and all its data.
  • Processing Time: Data deletion requests are typically processed within 7 business days after verification.
  • Account Still Active: Deleting specific data does not delete your account. Your account will remain active, and you can continue using the app.

Data to Delete:
- All chores I created in the house "My Home"
- All shopping list items from the past 6 months
- My experience points and rewards (reset gamification data)

I confirm that the email address provided matches my account.

Alternative: Delete from the App

For most data types, you can delete them directly from the LoadLess app:

Note: If you need to delete large amounts of data or specific data that's difficult to delete through the app, use the email request method described above.
